This was the title of the topic last Sunday by Michael Beckwith. In short, I am free today from the bondage of my past. Growing up with immigrant parents whose sole purpose was to ensure our survival, I was surrounded by thoughts of scarcity, insecurity, worry and fear. Not to say that this was the plight of all immigrant children but this was my experience. I'm a smart gal and I knew on an intellectual level the negative emotions that I felt entrapped by but I could not overcome them no matter what I tried. And I tried EVERYTHING. Today is a different story. I am filled with the most content security, living my bliss daily, carrying joy and happiness with me NOW in every moment, so that as I move forward in life expressing my talents and working toward my goals, the attainment of those goals will simply mean their physical manifestation and not an achievement of happiness, for I finally understand that if one is not happy now, they are not going to be happy when they get the "illusion" of what they think will bring them happiness.
